What an emotions and what a journey. I still can’t believe what all happened in 3 months time. The words that I would use to summarise my trip are life changing, insightful, emotional, overwhelming and even meant to be. The people I met during my journey were amazing. You were and are the reason that my trip was an incredible and life-changing experience, thank you!

Me time
9 months … and 3 days … Time flies, it’s so cliché, but so true. 15 th of July, the day will always be in my mind. The day that you left us, the day that you finally got your peace. I sincerely enjoy the moments that I am in Poland surrounded by people from the industry, friends, creating new memories, exploring new cities. And even sometimes I do feel guilty, we could have done this together, and no better companion than my best buddy, my best friend and loving husband.

Ready for take off
Excited, scared, enthusiastic, doubts, a bit nervous and tired, but more over emotional. Is it possible to feel all these emotions at the same time? Apparently yes! Strange to be standing a day before my departure and a lot of emotions are holding me back; what have I done? What are my expectations? What am I looking for?
A new adventure - my camper journey
Starting 2022 with a new adventure. I bought a camper, my new mobile home ofifice. Going on tour through Germany, Denmark and Poland from March to July. It sounds so easy and exciting, starting a new adventure after all what happened during the past 2 years. Yes, I love adventures and exploring new places, just I don’t want to travel alone. This dream of travelling around in a camper was a dream of me and Christophe. If he turned 50, I told him, we will take a break of a few months and travel. #mariskajourney
Resilience
Let me be honest, I didn’t want to travel. Normally I always go in November to Barcelona for one of the largest trade shows in our industry, called IBTM. In 2019 it was the last edition and Christophe joined me during my stay. We arrived earlier to spend the weekend together, and to enjoy the city. The days after I attended the show, he stayed and we flew back together. A tradition for many years. When I spoke with my best friend, she suggested joining me during the weekend prior to the trade show. I hesitated and said, no, not this year. Two weeks later, she called me to say that she’s behind the computer and will push the button to book the tickets to go to Barcelona. I couldn’t let her go alone, and booked my ticket the same evening.
No Words
I was blocked, due to emotions, due to the fact I was exhausted, I just couldn’t publish a new blog post. I had so many things on my mind with the little energy that I had. And after the tribute of my father in law in March I just couldn’t publish another tribute, it was too much. On the 4th of May I brought my husband to the emergency department of the hospital. From one second to the other, he couldn’t walk or stand anymore. Just 30 minutes before he walked to the toilet alone, incredible. Together with my neighbour we put Christophe in the car and drove to the hospital. After some research and scans, our concerns were confirmed, the tumor is back. Two weeks later I brought him home.
